For whom does the Rule of Law apply and for what?

If we look back critically on the application of the “rule of law” it has been used to justify human rights violations and other deplorable acts. Unfortunately, this isn’t relegated to the past. Recently, we have seen the same sentiments applied to the ongoing violation of the Wet’suwet’en hereditary leadership and traditional governance opposing Coastal GasLink’s fracked gas pipeline.
