A Pull Together Birthday Party
Tamiko, a Vancouver local and Pull Together supporter, organized her birthday party around raising funds to support the First Nations pursuing legal challenges to stop TMX! 51 people showed up at the Unitarian Church for an evening of food, stories and games such as charades, name that tune (music and movies from the 60’s,70’s etc up to today) and a hilariously competitive Rock Paper Scissors- in Japanese! Tamiko says, “We started by a welcome and singing with Kwitsel Tatel and finished by dancing International folk dances. Together we raised $2775 for the Pull Together TMX campaign and $430 to support Unist’ot’en!
Are you inspired by Tamiko’s creative way to have fun and support Indigenous rights and environmental justice? You can organize an event here or set up an online fundraiser. Let us know if you need any support, we have plenty of organizer toolkits to share!
