Hello RAVEN Community,
As we leave 2024 behind and look towards the future of 2025, I am writing to share some personal news and to express my heartfelt gratitude for your support of RAVEN.
After much reflection, I have made the difficult decision to step down from my role as Executive Director of RAVEN. I have accepted another position that will allow me to continue advocating and working for Indigenous Peoples, while also embracing new challenges and growth. My departure will take effect on 31 January, 2025.
Serving as Executive Director of this remarkable Indigenous-led organization has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Together, we have achieved astonishing milestones and upheld our shared goal to fundraise for Indigenous-led legal challenges and to help provide access to justice for Indigenous Peoples who are enforcing their rights and title to steward their territories. These accomplishments would not have been possible without your support and belief in this unique cause.
While this chapter of my journey is closing, I am confident that the future of RAVEN is bright and will be in good hands. The Board of Directors is committed to ensuring a seamless transition and has already identified Leslie Anne St. Amour, Campaign Director of RAVEN, as the Interim Executive Director. The Board of Directors is already in the process of finding a permanent successor who will build upon our collective successes and lead the organization to new heights.
I want to assure you that your support will always have a profound impact on our work. The Indigenous legal cases you support are the focus of RAVEN’s efforts, and I know that the incredible team here will continue to bring these Indigenous partnerships to life with the same enduring passion and dedication that RAVEN has embodied since its inception in 2009.
Thank you for being an essential part of our RAVEN community and for trusting me to be a part of RAVEN. Your belief in our mission has been a constant source of inspiration, and I am deeply grateful for the memories, partnerships, and achievements we have shared. Meeting some of our supporters and Indigenous partners in person will forever be cherished memories of my time at RAVEN. Though I will no longer be in this role, I remain committed to Indigenous environmental justice and supporting RAVEN’s goals by being a monthly donor myself. I hope our paths will cross in the future and until then, I wish RAVEN and staff continued and always growing support from donors like you.
With deepest gratitude,
Danielle Wilson
