The Toronto International Film Festival is in full swing with hundreds of movies set to unspool through Sept. 20. Avi Lewis’ new film, “This Changes Everything”, is an official TIFF selection and features interviews with Crystal Lameman of the Beaver Lake Cree Nation.
Based on the non-fiction bestseller by Naomi Klein, who is Lewis’s partner, the documentary profiles seven communities on the front lines of climate change including the BLCN, whose historic court challenge stands to change the future of the tarsands.
Lewis travelled to nine countries and five continents for footage, remarking upon the “huge surge of climate activism around the world” he witnessed while making both the book and the film.
