stories with Luke Wallace

You are invited...

About the Event

Join RAVEN (Respecting Aboriginal Values and Environmental Needs) and Vancouver Unitarians Social Justice & Environment teams for a very special evening of songs and stories.

When: Monday June 19th, 7 pm
Where: Vancouver Unitarians, 949 West 49th St.
Luke Wallace headlines a show that will bring together storytellers, spoken word and a chorus of voices to sing songs of praise and protest for our world. This event is a fundraiser for RAVEN's Breathing Lands campaign, supporting 10 Indigenous Nations who are in court to protect Canada's boreal peatlands: lands and waters that sequester more carbon than the Amazon rainforest.
The Breathing Lands are a vast peatland in northern Ontario whose wetland ecosystems, stewarded since time immemorial by Anishinaabe caretakers, act as the lungs of planet Earth. These rich lands and waters are at risk, as the Ford government pushes to exploit minerals in what they call 'The Ring of Fire'.  More info about this campaign:
