On Wednesday, September 18th at 12PM, Grassy Narrows youth and community members are calling on folks to walk with them in their fight for mercury justice and freedom!
On September 18, 2024, Grassy Narrows will take to the streets in Toronto for the annual River Run — a rally and public action that aims to bring awareness to their decades-long call for mercury justice. At 12pm ET, we invite you to join the solidarity walk alongside Grassy Narrows youth and community members. In rallying together, we will send a powerful message of solidarity that strengthens the roots of justice for Grassy — ensuring that their calls for compensation, support for restoring their way of life, and respect for their Indigenous Protected Area cannot be ignored.
RAVEN will be there standing alongside Grassy Narrows in their demand for justice. We hope that you will join us.
📅 - Sept 18th, 12 pm EST

Grassy Narrows River Run - Victoria
For over 60 years, the Grassy Narrows First Nation has been advocating for proper compensation and cleanup after a mercury discharge in the English-Wabigoon River contaminated their waters, health, and livelihoods. This annual River Run aims to amplify the voices of Grassy Narrows youth, families, and allies who are calling for healing, reparations, and a mercury-free future.
Here on the west coast, RAVEN is organizing TWO educational walks! One in Victoria and one in Vancouver.
Victoria:
📅 - Sept 19th, 6pm PST
