Generational Giving
Leave a legacy for Indigenous Rights and Environmental Justice
We honour and respect people who remember us in their will. RAVEN has been successful in stopping a major tar sands pipeline, protecting a sacred lake from open-pit mining, and in helping to restore habitat for endangered woodland caribou. With your help, the future of RAVEN’s work will be a legacy worth passing on to the generations that follow.
The transfer of wealth that will take place in the next generation has a huge potential to fund Indigenous-led legal cases; cases that are an innovative and effective way to curtail unsustainable industrial development, drive systemic change and continue the work of building toward decolonization and reconciliation.
Indigenous values and principles that guide decision-making include having long-term perspectives that consider the well-being of future generations. And as settlers working through the issues raised by colonization, choosing to give back as we leave this time on earth deepens the commitment to reparation, and can help strengthen Indigenous-led legal actions aimed at lasting, positive change.
A will is an easy, cost-effective way to ensure that your final wishes are respected. A bequest is a gift from your estate that will reduce your estate taxes. You can give as much or as little as you want and you can always change your mind.
