Historic Moment in Fundraising for Pull Together during the Week to End TMX

We are beyond inspired and encouraged by businesses leading the way as strong allies for Indigenous rights and environmental justice! On November 26th, we kicked off a Week to End TMX (Trans Mountain Pipeline Expansion project) where we invited businesses to join the Pull Together movement and get behind First Nations leading the charge to stop this shoddy pipeline project amidst a climate crisis. During this week, 23 businesses got involved and donations were doubled with matching funds–which means our fundraising efforts have been historic for Pull Together. In less than a month, we’ve raised over $70k to fund First Nations’ led legal challenges to stop the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion.

Today, we are especially grateful to Bluhouse Cafe’s efforts for the Week to end TMX. Jen McCarthy says:

“Our business in Deep Cove is grateful to operate on unceded Indigenous lands. We are forever indebted to the Nations fighting this pipeline and protecting the Inlet where we live, work and play. As a sustainable business we are deeply worried about the climate crisis and see this pipeline as a step in the wrong direction. Warrior up and keep it in the ground!”

Today, December 3rd, is the last day to donate and have your donations doubled by matching funds! Spread the word, let’s rally our efforts today and encourage everyone we know to get behind this movement. Every action truly goes a long way–that is the beauty of a collective, people-powered movement.
