Northern nurses pledge to raise $5K
The North Coast Outpost Nurses are health care workers on the front lines of one of the most vital— and vulnerable— communities in BC.
The wild coast nourishes the spirit of the Gitxaala community, who have stood up to defend their territory against the Enbridge pipeline and tankers project. Unequivocal in their opposition to allowing diluted bitumen through the territory, the Chief and council have launched a court challenge to press for their constitutional rights to consultation.
Nurses and health workers deal with preventative medicine as well as primary care. What could contribute more to the long term health of a community, and a culture, than to ensure protection of clean water and sustainable wild food sources?
In that spirit a group of nurses have banded together to fundraise for Pull Together, pledging to raise $5000 to support First Nations in their search for justice.
