Philanthropy is for Everyone
Here in the Northern Hemisphere, the weather is turning chilly with many communities blanketed in snow already. Despite our surroundings, we’re rooting into warmth this winter and igniting the spirit of philanthropy amongst our networks.
This time of year is known as the Giving Season, but it’s about more than just giving — it’s about sharing in our love for each other and our more-than-human kin. It’s about centering care in the present day in a way that creates a future where we can all thrive. Instead of framing the Giving Season around short-term gift-giving and unnecessary purchases, we want to encourage each of us to see gift-giving as an opportunity for philanthropy.
Philanthropy is for everyone.
Here are some non-monetary ways you can engage in Philanthropy with RAVEN this Giving Season.
- Share the Love: Spread the word about RAVEN’s work on social media and with your friends and family.
- Learn and Advocate: Read RAVEN’s latest blog posts to learn more about our campaigns or take Home on Native Land, a free online course that delves into the colonial roots of Canada’s legal system.
- Organize a fundraiser: Host an event or gathering or an online fundraiser and pool your network’s resources to support RAVEN.
- Volunteer your time: Lend your skills and passion to our campaigns. Fill out this form to be added to our volunteer roster.
RAVEN’s success over the past 15 years is largely thanks to the generosity of our people-powered community. During a time of year that can often feel cold and isolating, let’s create our own warmth through community and connection.
Philanthropy is for everyone, and it’s not just something to engage in during the Giving Season. Want to be a part of the movement for environmental justice and Indigenous sovereignty in Canada? Get involved now.
