“Quaranzine” making workshop with Malaka Gharib on Friday, April 10th

Solidarity with Indigenous Peoples is active and ongoing. How are you engaging when you have had to move from lively community events and demonstrations to the solitary confines of your couches? Now is a great time to challenge ourselves to rethink what #solidarityfromhome means.

Whether that be taking a new online course or workshop, petitioning from online, or even getting those creative juices going with some activist art: we can all do meaningful work to connect communities even when we are physically isolated from one another.

Social justice proponents around the world have utilized comics to mobilize, politicize, and educate. Comics and graphic novels can be an incredibly accessible medium to relay messages through the power of humour and satire. This Friday, April 10th at 7 pm ET/4 pm PT, join critically acclaimed comic book artist Malaka Gharib in her free live “quaranzine” workshop, exploring our shared anxieties around the Covid-19 Pandemic! What a great opportunity to have a laugh and use some of that pent up energy we are all feeling to creatively connect and engage.
