RAVEN is seeking an energetic fundraising campaign leader to join our team. RAVEN is the only non-profit charitable organization in Canada that raises legal defence funds to help Indigenous Peoples tackle the big issues of treaty rights and protecting traditional land and ways of life from the relentless reach of non-sustainable industrial expansion. We stand shoulder to shoulder in support of their rights, because funding Indigenous legal actions is the best way to advance both reconciliation and sustainability.


General Overview of the Position:


The Fundraising Campaign Manager leads the communication and fundraising strategies for our key priority campaigns. The FCM guides the work of the campaign team, liaising with the Nations we work with in fulfilling the campaign goals within the mission and vision of RAVEN and the evolving needs of the campaign. Supported by our development team, this full-time role devises campaign goals and objectives, audiences and key messages, platforms and tactics, and the content plan, measurement and analytics, keeping the time commitment and budget in mind.


This position is accountable to and reports directly to the Executive Director. S/he will work with other RAVEN staff and contractors as needed.


Detailed Responsibilities:


  • Oversee the development and management of a strategic fundraising plan that is in line with RAVEN’s overall goals and priorities and incorporates future planning.
  • Work with ED and RAVEN team on strategic direction and overseeing all of RAVEN’s campaigns.
  • Oversee the coordination and implementation of the fundraising operations and programs within all of RAVEN’s campaign programs.
  • Create and manage the various campaign budgets.
  • Collaboration with team members to identify and implement the most effective campaign strategies and tactics possible in light of available resources.
  • Work with Development Directors to steward key corporate relationships as necessary.
  • Integrate and coordinate team member activities.
  • Participate in foundation and major donor briefings, cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation.
  • Write and/or edit funding proposals and reports as identified by the Executive Director and/or Development Directors.
  • Manage an innovative communication plan in all areas of campaigns. Develop and hone strategies to maintain and increase donations, and to identify and pursue opportunities for high profile media/communications coverage.
  • Create regular reports to allow for timely and accurate information sharing with the campaign team, ED and board of directors.


Skills and Experience:


  • Minimum 3-5 years campaign management experience
  • Fundraising experience – this is grassroots fundraising that may also involve meeting with big donors, building partnerships with institutions, and doing varied campaigns
  • Knowledge of the non-profit community, locally, and nationally
  • Knowledge of Indigenous Peoples in Canada and the arc of reconciliation we are in
  • Strong communication skills including high interpersonal, facilitation, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to create and work to budget
  • Computer proficiency in basic computer applications, including spreadsheet, word processing, and multiple social media platforms.
  • High capacity for management of multiple moving pieces while meeting deadlines with ease, strategic thinking and time management
  • Creative, organized, independent and comfortable working in a fast-­paced and ever-­changing environment.



Working conditions:


Position: Permanent Full Time

Remuneration: Salary based on experience and qualifications. Up to $50K per annum.

Location of work: The Campaign Manager works mainly from their home office with regular meetings with the ED and staff, and is responsible for maintaining their own telecommunication, internet and computing equipment. S/he may be located in either Vancouver or Victoria, British Columbia.
