RAVEN welcomes Rob Hallam, our new board treasurer!
With more than 35 years of experience as a senior executive in the non-profit sector, Rob Hallam brings expertise in strategic planning, community development, governance, and fundraising. We are so excited to welcome Rob to the RAVEN board in the very critical role of treasurer.
Rob has an MBA in strategic planning and a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Alberta. He has worked in both the performing arts sector and with NGO’s (non-governmental organizations). In the arts, he began his career as General Director of Edmonton Opera followed by his leadership of the Vancouver Opera as General Director. His experience in the United States was as the President and CEO of the Omaha Symphony where he led the establishment of a $17 million Endowment Fund. Moving from the arts into the NGO sector, Rob was Executive Director for the Canadian Network for International Surgery. Prior to his retirement in 2018, Rob was the Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity Mid-Vancouver Island. Additionally, Rob has been involved with volunteer work in a number of developing countries – Kenya, Tanzania, and Jamaica.
Rob is passionate about nature and enjoys hiking and kayaking. He is honored to join the RAVEN Board of Directors. Rob loves living in close proximity to the water and woods on the traditional territory of the Malahat First Nation.
