Small business, SIC.Co Activewear, donates 10% of net profits to RAVEN.

We are kicking 2021 off with a shoutout to small business SIC.Co Activewear for choosing to donate 10% of their net profits to support Indigenous legal challenges!

SIC.Co is focused on helping Canadians lead healthier and more active lives by providing them with activewear that helps them look good, feel good and, most importantly, do good. In short, they are all
about getting people to start investing in change for themselves, others, and the environment around them.

“I wanted to collaborate with RAVEN for a couple of different reasons. First, I think it is important to help support Indigenous communities in exercising their inherent rights and title; especially when it comes to protecting their traditional territories,” says Michael Frank, founder of SIC.Co. “Raising legal defence funds for this is critical for a more socially, and environmentally, just Canada, but it will also set a legal precedent for future cases as well. Second of all, RAVEN is Victoria-based and, therefore, close to home. I believe it’s important to give back to your local community, and, particularly, to those organizations that are working on the frontlines of making our world a better, and more peaceful, place to live. I found RAVEN by researching various organizations in BC that focus on dismantling Indigenous justice issues in Canada, and I was truly touched by the mission, mandate, and social interaction that RAVEN has with its tightly knit community; and I wanted to get involved.”

“Supporting Indigenous legal rights is important to me because, in my view, all Canadians have a moral and ethical duty to help protect and uphold the rights and title of Indigenous Peoples in Canada; and around the world.”

When asked why supporting Indigenous rights is important to them, Michael says “Supporting Indigenous legal rights is important to me because, in my view, all Canadians have a moral and ethical duty to help protect and uphold the rights and title of Indigenous Peoples in Canada; and around the world. I want my kids, and future generations, to grow up in an equitable, and more just, Canada; and that requires acknowledging and addressing Canada’s past and the contemporary issues that it has caused as a result.”

Thank you so much SIC.CO Activewear for your support! Be sure to give them a follow on Instagram, to get notification of their launch!
