Moksha Yoga Burnaby pulls together to protect the coast

Through the months of January and February, Moksha Yoga Burnaby hot yoga studio are raising funds for First Nations legal challenges to the Kinder Morgan pipeline and tankers project.

Moksha Yoga Burnaby are standing up to ensure that all parties have an active voice in how development takes place in First Nations traditional territory, and that First Nations groups have proper legal representation to meet Kinder Morgan and the federal government on equal footing. We are so grateful that people from coast to coast to coast will be standing with us.

Moksha Yoga Burnaby will be supporting the Pull Together campaign by donating 100% of their weekly Karma Class funds from January and February.

It’s so inspiring to see the power of yoga and community coming together as a force for good in the world. Moksha and Modo Yoga’s co-founder, Ted Grand, tells a story from the Bhagavad Gita to underscore his community’s dedication to grassroots action:

Arjuna was in the middle of the chaos in the Bhaghavad Gita, and he froze.  He did not know what to do, nor how to do it, and so he wanted to turn away from everything that was going on – he wanted to hide from his dharma.  Krishna shook him up and forced him to wake up, to take action.  This is what brought him back into life and what essentially saved his heart from ignorance.  This is karma yoga – the yoga of action. It means a lot that we take chances and stand up to speak for those who do not have a powerful voice, and in fact have their voice suppressed.  We are Arjuna, taking action, and we are helping to make the world a better place.

Moksha Yoga is a strong community with a commitment to karma yoga : the yoga of action.  They encourage peaceful action by individual students and communities ~ both on and off the yoga mat.
