We’re always amazed what small grassroots community events can achieve and this month we’ve had seen just that.

An exciting multimedia project, My Peace River, is up and running spreading the word about Site C and raising money to stop it.  This is an artistic collaboration between photographer Jodie Ponto and musician Jody Peck (aka: Miss Quincy), who grew up on opposite banks of the Peace River. They are the force that organized The Party for the Peace, which took place this past month featuring music by Ms. Quincy, dancing, and lots of fun for everyone while raising $3000 for Join the Circle! If you missed the party but want to donate to their fundraising campaign and learn more about them you can do so here!

Another great event was the Kairos Rolling Justice Bus that came through Fort St. John and held a carwash fundraiser that raised over $400 for the campaign! They also had the chance to meet and learn from those who will be directly affected by the proposed dam while in town.

There are many ways to help, including donating, spreading the word, or better yet joining our amazing fundraising team, which includes David Suzuki, Holly Arntzen, Caleb Behn and many more!  It’s easy to become a fundraiser and takes mere minutes, check it out here!
