Vancouver Film Screening Raises Over $3000
In late September, a Vancouver resident named Sondra put on a fantastic event, with a little help from her friends, all of them volunteering their time to make the event a success.
About 140 people packed Vancouver’s Unitarian Church to see the inspiring and insightful new documentary film, Coastal Tarsands. The audience also had the opportunity to hear from the film’s director, Richard Boyce; as well as Arno Kopecky, author of “The Oil Man and the Sea;” Larissa Stendie, Sierra Club BC’s Climate Campaigner; Chief Douglas Neasloss of the Kitassoo First Nation, and Ayla Brown of the Heiltsuk Nation.
The panel led a great discussion with the community members in attendance.

A big thank you and congratulations to Sondra, all the speakers, and everyone who came out in support!
