Victoria: Full House at Fairfield Literary Event

“A full house and great energy. We raised 200$ for Pull Together and drank a lot of iced tea. :)”

It was an evening of literary readings – part of the ‘elements’ series – as well as a fundraiser for Pull Together.

Pictured is one of the evening’s writers, Julie Paul, reading from The Pull Of The Moon, her recently published short story collection. Paul has published two collections of short fiction, The Jealousy Bone (2008) and The Pull of the Moon (Brindle & Glass, 2014). The Pull of the Moon was included on The Globe and Mail’s Top 100 of 2014 and was recently awarded an IPPY award.

A huge thank you for the contributions of the organizer, the speakers and the venue!

The organizer of the event, Charles, wanted to add that if anyone is interested in organizing any further fundraising events, for Pull Together or any other indigenous land defense work, they can contact him and he can arrange to book Fairfield Market as a venue. To be connected with Charles, send a message to outreach [at] sierraclub.bc.ca.
