Team RAVEN,
I have worked in renewable energy development in the United States for 14 years, developing wind, solar and battery energy projects across the country with the goal of decarbonizing the grid. I have deep environmental convictions that led me into this career field and that lead me into caring about critical environmental issues like stopping oil and gas extraction and pipeline expansions.
I have been tracking the Tar Sands issue for years. Reading Naomi Klein’s, “This Changes Everything: Capitalism vs. The Climate,” I learned specifically about the Beaver Lake Cree fight and was moved to start a fundraiser on the RAVEN page, found here: https://fundraise.raventrust.com/fundraiser/2911626. I am happy that my community showed up to give $3,000 in response to my call to action.
