***This event has been rescheduled to April 2, 2023.***
Gitxaala Nation has launched a groundbreaking legal challenge that aims at B.C.’s outdated Mineral Tenure Act. Currently, the province allows anyone with $25 and a laptop to stake a mining claim without having to notify the Nation whose territory they’re prospecting on.
RAVEN is so grateful to Brazilian band Ciranda, who are teaming up with hip East Van venue Notional Space to present a night of music Sunday, April 2, 2023. The Ciranda gig is the first of many fundraising events to count down and support Gitxaala Nation court hearing beginning April 3rd. See highlights from last summer’s Ciranda concert on Salt Spring Island here.
Join Ciranda on Sunday, April 2, from 2 pm at Notional Space, 1523 East Pender Street, Vancouver, Coast Salish Territory.
Performance begins at 2:30 pm.

Ciranda is a six-piece band based in Vancouver, comprised of a mix of Canadian, Japanese, and Brazilian musicians. They play traditional Brazilian music (choro, forro, samba, and bossanova) which all band members have fallen in love with. Ciranda is deeply concerned about environmental protection and has been actively fundraising to support RAVEN, to protect old growth forests in BC, and to protect the Amazon rainforest. Check out their YouTube channel here.
All donations from these fundraising events will be TRIPLED!!
Thank you for grooving with us!!
