When I started brainstorming businesses and items to secure for our first silent auction, I kept returning to one question: “How can we offer something to all RAVEN supporters, even those who don’t need anything but want to support our mission?” The pay-it-forward initiative came to mind.

How it started! We invited local coffee shops to participate in a pay-it-forward initiative rooted in community, reciprocity, and gratitude. Instead of asking them for a single gift card at a higher dollar value, we asked if they had capacity to donate a few to cover the cost of a coffee or tea.

How does it work? Instead of bidding on a gift card for yourself, you can bid on one of our pay-it-forward gift cards as a future gift of thanks to someone who helps make our work possible. Each pay-it-forward gift card is a donation that directly supports Indigenous justice. And yes, you’ll receive a charitable tax receipt for your contribution. The beautiful part? The gift card you bid on will be passed along to a RAVEN volunteer, donor, or community member as a small but powerful token of gratitude to celebrate those who show up and take one step further in supporting our work.

This isn’t just a donation or a bid on an item. It’s part of a ripple of kindness and recognition, sparked by our amazing business supporters and carried forward by supporters like you.

Don’t miss your chance to pay-it-forward or bid on something for yourself to support Indigenous led justice!

Ǧiáxsix̌a (thank you) to Habit Coffee and Caffe Fantastico for supporting this initiative and all the business donors who are supporting our first silent auction!
