Aiyana and her amazing team at Bandidas ride again! This Earth Day, the beloved East Van eatery is holding an all-day festival in support of Indigenous justice. Come on down to this famed Commercial Drive eatery on Sunday, April 22nd and enjoy incredible food, great people and a fabulous atmosphere: all for justice!
Says Aiyana, “So far the event looks like it will be quite lively. The cafe will have a full line-up of events out front on the sidewalk during the day – our Earth Day sidewalk festival. We are really looking forward to this event. It has become a highlight of the year for us!”
Here are the details of the day:
- This year, we have partnered with 4 local schools to produce an art show where students make art around Earth Day themes. The art show will be hung the weekend of Earth Day.
- Bandidas will donate 100% of our profits for sales of the entire day.
- The donation will go to RAVEN’s Heiltsuk “Stand up for Coast Heroes” campaign
- Victory Gardens will set up a gardening booth on the sidewalk from 10:00 to 2:00 – selling plants, seeds, seedlings, and some small gardening tools. They will be donating proceeds to The Classroom Gardner.
- Earnest Ice Cream will be out front with their scoop truck parked on the street from around 11:00 to 1:30ish. They will be donating 100% of their sales along side Bandidas to RAVEN.
- We will have sidewalk chalk for kids (or adults)
