Organized by Douglas Channel Watch, residents of Kitimat came together on the Kitimat River on National Aboriginal Day and Fathers Day for some fun in the sun and in the water.
According to Lucy, one of the organizers, “It was a gorgeous day. We enjoyed a wiener roast and a few of the group went out on the river and paddled all the way to the salt water. Some stayed at the riverbank and did a little fishing.”
This is a perfect example of what we mean when we say, “who knew stopping a pipeline could be so much fun?”
Thank you for leading the way, Kitimat!
